Recent studies have suggested that Stereum ostrea may not occur in North America (e.g., Delong-Duhon & Bagley, 2020, unpublished). The structurally similar species Stereum fasciatum and Stereum lobatum are known to occur in Maryland.
Description
"Paper thin" quality (L. Biechele, pers. comm.). Similar Turkey Tail has pores.
Relationships
Sometimes grows alongside Coral-pink Merulius.
