Description
Cap: Fruiting body kidney to spoon-shaped; tough when fresh, hard when dry; velvety to smooth; white to cream or ochraceous; margin thin. Pores: White to cream; extremely tiny (6-8/mm). Stalk: Lateral, central, or eccentric, sometimes absent; color like cap or yellow-brown; wrinkled in age (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
Where To Find
On decaying hardwood, rarely conifers above ground or, occasionally, on buried wood (J. Solem, pers. comm.).

Microporellus obovatus is a species of poroid fungus in the family Polyporaceae. It has been found in French Guiana, Guadeloupe, and various locales in Africa, India, and the United States.[1]
