Details
Status
Bobcats are uncommon in the state and found mainly in western Maryland, but they are occasionally found in the Piedmont. They are very rare on the coastal plain. The state's population dwindled to extremely low levels in the late 1800s due to deforestation, but they have rebounded as forests regenerated.
