Status
This species is the most commonly encountered pyralid pest associated with international shipments of all kinds of dried, stored vegetable products such as seeds, nuts, grain, and dried fruits and vegetables. Although it has long been established as an indoor pest in this country, we have no record of its occurrence outdoors (Glaser with Ferguson, Micromoths).
