Description

Flowers are white to pinkish, with pink veins, and are solitary. The leaves are all basal and green beneath.

Where To Find

Grows in rich, moist woods at the higher elevations in Maryland. Common in the hemlock or spruce and birch forests of Garrett County, less common at lower elevations (Brown and Brown, 1984).
